The Vision Behind Yoso

Jennalee Dahlen

Founder, Esthetician, Chief Visionary with a Splash of Happiness

Jennalee is the heart and hands behind Yōso. A visionary esthetician with over a decade of experience and a lineage rooted in Japanese care traditions, she sees skin not just as surface—but as story. Her work is both sacred and science-informed, shaped by more than 400 hours of case studies, 15 international awards, and an unwavering belief that skincare is soul care.

  • For many years I have had a deep passion for skin health and the incredible physical, mental and emotional benefits it can create for an individual when it is taken care of.  I could not be more thrilled to share that enjoyment and knowledge with all the wonderful humans that experience a treatment with me. At Yoso we acknowledge the skin is our largest organ and we believe that what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in your body. Which is why our approach is clean, organic and natural beauty and skincare.

I believe the skin is our third brain and the health of it goes beyond what we see on the surface which has led me to continue to expand not only my education, but the services we offer at Yoso. Our whole body has a story to tell, it simply needs to be seen, heard and acknowledged with conscious products, educated practitioners and treatment focused services.

A large accomplishment in my career was achieving the 2025 "Esthetician of the Year" an International Award and becoming an 15x International Award Winning Esthetician over the course of 2022-2025, dedicating over 400 hours of case study work and roughly 175 pages of case study write ups, 140 videos documenting the process and working on varying skin conditions from psoriasis, acne, aging, compromised skin, hair restoration and more.

Yoso was formed with the intention to be a respite for you to feel whole from skin to soul while offering organic products, holistic treatment focused services. My mission is that every person that interacts with us in any form, be it on the phone, online or walking through our doors, feels seen, known, and cared for, whether they experience a service, purchase something from us or just pop in to check us out. If it is possible to find a soul mate in a career, I have found mine!

If community was a second passion, well then that is mine. I believe in the power of connection, being kind and welcoming all. I believe in the power of engagement and the positive impact and ripple effect a smile can make.

Welcome to how Yōso was formed, with passion, vision and a lot of heart.

With a degree from San Jose State University in Advertising and Business Marketing followed by working as a buyer for a Green Business, Sports Basement, I decided to make a shift to follow my skincare passion in 2010. My education in Esthetics began at a school in Santa Clara with the highest standards and enthusiasm for success. I have received extensive training from the International Dermal Institute, Concepts Institute, Eminence Organics, Osmosis Skincare, Cecily Brayden and many more advanced educators throughout the United States. I continue to take advanced education classes in subjects such as skin conditions, Manual Lymphatic Drainage for the face, massage techniques, Facial Reflexology, REIKI, Gua Sha, Gemstones, product ingredients and essential oils.

One of my most rewarding moments of Esthetics was becoming certified as an ONCOLOGY Esthetician! In my opinion, education is one of the most important things I can do for my role in working with each of you, because as they say, “knowledge is power.” The more informed I am, the better I can inform you!

I have been honored to receive the "Be The Difference Award" from the California State Legislature in 2019 and 2023, Entrepreneur of the year in 2018, 4x Mindbody Visionary Award recipient, Leadership Bravo Award and Most Compassionate Business Award along with both the Goodtimes and Santa Cruz Waves Best Spa and Esthetician.

I am the type of person that jumps for joy from even the smallest things. My life could not be more fulfilled thanks to what I call my woodland fairies, also known as my three little girls Iylee, Marley and Braysen. You will likely meet my kids at some point as little spa nomads drifting around as they LOVE to be at Yōso helping out with little projects and getting treatments themselves!

I can’t wait to meet you at the Spa or at our wellness lifestyle shop, Yoso the Annex!

    With True Care,

    Jennalee

  • Over the past twelve years, I’ve devoted myself to the craft of esthetics. Not just as a service, but as a sacred practice.

From psoriasis to acne, aging to grief, every skin I’ve touched has taught me something. I’ve completed more than four hundred hours of advanced case studies, authored over 175 pages of clinical documentation, and filmed 140+ educational videos.

It’s been an honor to be named the 2025 Esthetician of the Year, and to become a 15-time International Award-Winning Esthetician between 2022 and 2025. But my deepest reward is witnessing someone leave with lighter shoulders, a softened gaze, and the quiet knowing that they’ve returned to themselves.

I continue to study and deepen. Manual lymphatic drainage. Facial reflexology. Oncology esthetics. Gua sha. Reiki. Gemstone work. Ingredient formulation. Because the more I learn, the more I can offer. For the skin. For the nervous system. For the spirit.

  • Yōso was never just a spa.
    It was always a return.

    To what heals.
    To what matters.
    To what’s real.

Every touchpoint, from the way we answer the phone to the way we hold the face in our hands, is a moment of care. I want every person who steps into this circle to feel known. To feel met. To feel like there is nothing they need to be but themselves.

This is more than a career.
It is the work of my life.

And it’s one I get to live beside my three daughters, our radiant Yōso team, and the beautiful humans who find their way to our door.

    Thank you for being here.
    Welcome home.
